The ‘agar-agar’ refers to the Gelidium Elegans Lamouroux. Other than this, it generally refers to the Beckerella, the Pterocladia, the Acanthopeltis, the Gelidiella, etc., and it belongs to the red algae. It adheres above the rocks at the depth of around 20m from the lower part of the low-water line in the coastal waters of our country, Japan, the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, etc. There are the gametophytes of the males and the females separately. And the carpospores are made through the sexual reproductions. If the agar-agar is cleanly washed in the fresh water, the things that had been faded in the sunlight are boiled, and the residues are filtered and cooled down, they become the vegetable gelatines, and the vegetable gelatines that had been frozen and dried are the agars.
The agar-agar has been capturing 30% of the total amount of the production
of the seaweeds of our country. And the annual amount of the production of
the agar-agar in the whole country of Korea is around 3,000 tons. And,
among these, around 90% is produced in Jeju.
The agar-agar extract has been standardized at the fucosterol of 1.7 mg/g ± 20%.
As a food that has been traditionally ingested, the agar-agar (Gelidium elegans) is
a raw food material regarding which there is no ingestion restriction.
As a product that had been dried after extracting with the alcohol and the hot water,
as this raw material is 100% agar-agar extract, it is a food that is safe to ingest.

In the DEXA result, it appeared that, when the agar-agar extract was ingested, compared to the control group, there had been the effect of reducing the weight of the body fat by around 1560 g.
In the FAT CT result, it appeared that, when the agar-agar extract was ingested, compared to the control group, the area of the fat in the internal organs had been reduced by 8.81 cm2, the area of the subcutaneous fat had been reduced by 17.3 cm2, and the total area of the abdominal fat had been reduced by 26.11 cm2.

The males and he females whose average age is 35.5 years old. The subjects are the 78 Koreans. The average weight is 71.5kg. 12 weeks.
The test group: 1 time per 1 day, 3 tablets per 1 time, and orally ingested for 12 weeks (1000 mg/day as the agar-agar extract).
The placebo group: Through the same method as the test group, the oral ingestion of the placebo 1 time per 1 day, 3 tablets per 1 time, and for 12 weeks.
